Psychology 2.0's concept

The 2.0 in “Psychology 2.0”’s name has two meanings:

acknowledging that, following version 1.0 of the psychology concept, we considered that a new version required building based upon a different approach to scientific research, with the hope that it could boost the delivery of scientific results more relevant to everyday life
the new approach to the science is based upon the use of tools offered by web 2.0 technology. web 2.0 is a community-based, bi-directional communication that is the reverse of web 1.0, where there was only uni-directional communication between the editors of the websites and their audience. In web 1.0, the audience is passive, while in web 2.0 the audience can actively change the content of a web page. Examples of web 2.0 sites include Facebook, blogs, review sites (for example, trip advisors, hotel and restaurant opinion sites) or Lonely Planet.

Others who will be interested include: professionals who deal on an everyday basis with people gather valuable and extensive knowledge of human behavior
by using a language that is common to doctors, sociologists, teachers, psychiatrists, lawyers &c., we can collate all of the information we have on people
laymen interested in psychology, with an attitude reflecting their own behavior and habits, can add valuable knowledge to psychology.
the knowledge of commonsense and the accumulated observations made by world religions, which have remained valid over hundreds of years, can be either integrated in Psychology 2.0 or used as a double-check on psy2's findings.

Psychology 2.0 is integrative

as the founder of Psychology 2.0 is not connected to any major school of psychology (dynamic, cognitive &c.) the site is independent of various approaches
by using simple, everyday language, Psychology 2.0 tries to integrate the different findings in a common framework.
A good example of this integration is the effort made by Fodormik's Integrated Paradigm for Psychology (FIPP) which operates both with terms such as cognitive schemata (used in cognitive science) and self (used in the dynamic school's approach).
Psychology 2.0 respects the major findings of classical psychology (Psychology 1.0) but aims to rethink and integrate these findings into a wholly psychological view of life

using a co-operative attitude (language, supportive consideration) the community's creativity can be boosted
a positive attitude does not allow accepting faults in reasoning
if an error is observed, the error will not be emphasized, rather the alternative solutions

in order to assist the level of creativity of the psy2 community, the site licenses the articles published on its website using the up-to-date web licenses of Creative Commons 3.0
Creative Commons guarantees that everybody will have his rights as an author, but releases the other rights connected to an article, such as copying, publishing and alteration
this concept of intellectual property enables the content of all articles published on psy2.org to be available to the maximum of people and should thus be accessible by everyone via the internet

- by also taking into account the effect of using simple language, the results of Psychology 2.0 will be accessible for free by many more people than today
